MULE RACING WRAP UP

Sacramento, California – The end of the mule racing season on the California Summer Fair Circuit finds our office back in Northern California.  This has been a great year for us.  Two new world records were set by the infamous Black Ruby – one at 440 yards; the other at 870 yards.  She is amazing!

The winner of the AMRA Three Year Old Futurity was Sis-Q Skipa Libby owned by Caralee Scala.  The fastest three year olds on the circuit ran for a purse of over $18,000!

Interest in mule racing keeps growing with the public betting $6,723,860 throughout the summer on the 68 races that were run at seven fairs.  Purses are getting better all the time.  Several times we ran for  $10,000 in purse money.  Not bad for a sport that only started with pari-mutuel wagering on the fairs in 1995.

If you have a coming three year old that you would like to nominate for our Futurity or would just like to know more about mule racing, please check out our website at www.muleracing.org or e-mail us at ksnider@calexpo.com.
