What a mule! Not only is she a winner at the racetrack, but you can
ride, rope, brand, cut, pack – whatever – on her.
Tucker and Mary Lou Slender purchased Sanger Red, AKA Rosie, from Les Jones of Diamond Bar, California. Tucker needed a ranch mule to work cattle and Rosie fit the bill. The Slenders watched Rosie run in the pasture with the quarter horses, saw how much quick speed she had, and decided to bring her to the racetrack. Rosie proved to be just as competitive at the racetrack as at the ranch, earning her share of purse money. Rosie will have time off from her ranch work this summer to again run on the California Fair Racing Circuit. You can be sure that the Slender family will be there to cheer her on.
You too can watch Rosie run. Just go to your nearest satellite wagering facility that shows California Fair Racing. The first meet is the San Joaquin County Fair in Stockton beginning mid June.
