Beauty is everywhere in the world of lovers of all things long eared as the Mules make their way to the picturesque Sonoma County Fair at Santa Rosa. And what could be more beautiful than the excitement of the chase for the 3 Year Old and Open crowns starting with the $9.000 Sonoma County Trailblazers Futurity set to be run on Wednesday July 26th.

The Futurity will feature a rematch of 3 year old Contenders Out Of League, Bar JF Hot Ticket, and the world famous cloned mule Idaho Gem. With 20 points Bar JF Hot Ticket remains on top of the division, however, Out Of My League has won the last two meetings of these rivals and is closing in on the lead with 17 Points.

In the Open Division Sarah Nelson pulled even with arch rival Smoking Joe with a  2 ¾ length blow out victory over Smoking Joe in last Sunday’s Solano County Mule Championship thus evening the points race at 16.

Jockey Robert Boyce continued his winning ways last week with victories in 3 of the 9 races bringing home Tawnia Nelson, Tomahawk Iopener, and Sarah Nelson to victory.  Additionally, Otto Arriaga posted two solid victories with Jet Fuel and Tom Cat.  And finally the biggest winner of all was jockey Anthony “Hollywood” Ayala who welcomed a brand new baby girl to the world last week. Congratulations Anthony!
