BIG FRESNO WEEKEND!!!
As the mules return North after a successful Fairplex meet things couldn’t be shaping up better for a huge weekend of top flight racing at The Big Fresno Fair.
Kicking of the Weekend will be The Open Race on Saturday showcasing six top flight entrants but featuring the hot new rivalry on the circuit between perennial heavy hitter Sarah Nelson and the skyrocketing Bar JF Geneo. Of note to the mule faithful is that Smoking Joe will not be in The Open field for the first time in quite awhile, however, after posting a big win on Thursday over a fired up Ghenghis Khan, Joe is already sitting on a win over the Fresno Track and will hopefully be poised for a finale between himself, Sarah, and Geneo next weekend.
Sunday gets even hotter with The AMRA 2006 World Championship 3 Year Old Futurity bringing 9 entrants to the gate for their shot at one of the largest Mule Purses of the year. Previously Out Of My League has been dominating The 3 Year Old Division, however, things got a whole lot more interesting when early season favorite Bar JF Hot Ticket exploded out of gate in Wednesday’s Futurity trial defeating Out Of My League in an eye popping 20.319 for 350 yards.
In order to place in perspective just how spectacular Bar JF Hot Ticket’s Time was, one only needs to view the result of Smoking Joe’s victory on Thursday which clocked in at a sizzling (and yet slower) time of 20.389. If Hot Ticket keeps this up we may not only be looking at the Futurity Champion but also a new challenger to the Open Crown.
And last but not least, with so many orbitals spinning around the Mule Universe congratulations also must go out to the world famous clone Idaho Gem who regained the winning attitude Wednesday with a victory in his Futurity trial.
PLACE YOUR BETS AND ENJOY THE SHOW…MULE RACING HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER!!!
